Release Note

This page explains the new features and bugfixes in each release. This cannot cover all the changes in all packages but should help users to find out what needs to be adapted when changing to the new release. The latest stable release is v00-10-pre. Details are listed below.

Core software

• Enriched functionalities of GeometrySvc. Provide functions to get the position, dimention and direction of each detector volume. Provide functions to transform world coordinates and local coordinates.

• Update the data management system. Merge the r/o and r/w podio::EventStores.

• Provide functionalities to transfer collections from input to output files

• Normalize coding conventions, folder structure and cmake policies.

• Move from C++ 14 standard to C++ 17.

• Move from Python2 to Python3

• Update external libries:

  • podio

  • SNiPER

  • boost

• Update the event data model to meet latest requirements of applications

• Add MultiStreamTask to support joint analysis of multiple input streams

• Update Example codes

• Import the valprod toolkit to support software performance profiling and validation
